Obama Nominates Health Expert Jim Yong Kim to Head World Bank

Jim Yong Kim was nominated by US President Barack Obama to lead the international financial institution that provides loans to developing countries.
The Korean-born is not a banker or economist but a health expert and president of Darthmouth College. In contrast to former officeholders he is committed to development issues.

Obama Moves G-8 Summit From Chicago to Camp David

Instead of Chicago as previously planned, US President Barack Obama will host the G-8 summit at the presidential retreat Camp David, the White House announced.

The G-8 economic summit will take place May 18 and 19. The NATO summit on May 20 and 21 is still scheduled for Chicago.
